Diary/Portal (2024)
“Diary/Portal” functions as a kind of veiled diary, as well as a window into the mindspace. The diary exists as a space for emotional processing and for the archiving of significant events, especially for adolescent girls. I code and uncode my diary, revealing and yet simultaneously withholding my most vulnerable moments. Combining portraiture with diary excerpts, I explore the mindspace that unconsciously forms through the material objects we use to grapple with – and process – our emotions and experiences.
